We Have Faith in Nothing Really!

“The fanatical atheists are like slaves who are still feeling the weight of their chains which they have thrown off after hard struggle. They are creatures who -- in their grudge against traditional religion as the opium of the masses -- cannot hear the music of the spheres."
--Albert Einstein

“Much of what poses for scholarship is little more than labored evasion of truth. It does no good to crouch behind bristling palisades of apparatus when the footings have been laid in a bog. This is why first principles are so important, and why what a child could see without difficulty becomes to scholars advanced in years and knowledge, a profound and earth-shaking 'discovery'”
--S.M. Hutchens

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
“Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.”
(John 1: 1-3)

I have noticed recently that there has been a lot of excited chatter in certain circles of academia (mostly in science and philosophy departments) about how “god” has finally been (at last!) disproved, justifiably “written off” and properly, once-and-for-all, disposed of. Belief in any type of Divine Creator, Intelligent Designer or Omniscient/Omnipotent Being, we are told by the intelligentsia clan, was never anything more than an outlandishly childish and primitive myth . “God”, we are now authoritatively informed, is and always has been a fictitious intruder and a totally unnecessary “crutch” dreamed up by the intellectually gullible and deprived, the psychologically weak and the insufficiently evolved beings among us. These unfit, sadly-lacking human life-forms simply invented “god” so that they could cope sufficiently with the rigors of daily living in the rough and tumble real world of the “naturally selected”.

I'm sure we've all heard the story.

Today, the militant atheist community ...(aka., the New Atheists, “Free-Thinkers and “The Brights”, etc.)....tells us, with an omniscient air of proud condescension, that the very concept of ”god” is really nothing more than a “fairy tale”. Furthermore, they insist that only the pathetically ignorant could possibly believe such fairy tale nonsense. And then, in full-fledged paternalistic mode, they add: “Your 'god' is no more real than Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy or... (and this is their favorite clever put-down du jour)... “The Flying Spaghetti Monster”

This type of arrogantly foolish noise 'n' chatter is nothing new, of course, but the present-day batch of New Age nihilistas, (led by their head guru, avatar, entrepreneur and former working-scientist, Richard Dawkins) have been getting a lot of press these days.

A handful of high-profile scientists (most notably, Stephen Hawking) has even proclaimed that everything we see around us...all Space and Time and Matter, this Universe (and even all possible universes!)...., just naturally and inevitably “popped”into existence out of some dark and Empty Void. In fact, one prominent cosmologist and physics professor (Dr. Lawrence Krauss) has even written a book about this magical phenomenon (A Universe From Nothing). And he actually swears that it is not a work of fiction.

These New Atheists....( Albert Einstein once referred to this group as the “fanatical atheists”)... sincerely believe that everything just appeared out of nothing really, for really no reason at all!.

The New Atheist's “god” it may be said, is quite literally,......“Nothing Really”.

And that..... (dare I say it?)..... is one rung lower on the Idol Scale of Nonsense and Gullibility than “The Flying Spaghetti Monster” himself.

Nothing Really's their Creator.....(And to Nothing will they bow.)

[Somehow, the sad irony of all this has escaped these proud neo-nihilistas. One might be tempted to suggest that perhaps they are not yet sufficiently evolved to 'get it'. But I certainly won't go there!].

“We Have Faith in Nothing Really!”

(Nothing Really,.... Take a Bow!)

"Nothing Really"

We know “god's” not in the picture!
We know now “god's” been erased.
We know Nothing has created
Space and Time and every Place!

We know fairy tales are nonsense....
We know Nonsense very well!
We know Nothing Really's magic !
Nothing Really cast it's spell.

Nothing Really is amazing!
Nothing Really's Science fact!
We know Nothing Really....really!
And applaud Its Magic Act!

No, we swear, man...Science tells us
That all things just popped in view
From The Void of Nothing Really...
Even, sir, both me and you!

Yes, we know it all sounds crazy!....
Like some far-out Fairy Tale!
Nothing Really, though, has done it,
Nothing Really never fails.

Nothing Really fluctuated...
Nothing Really made all things...
Nothing Really really matters!
Nothing Really's interesting!

Here's our own “Spaghetti Monster”....
Nothing Really!....Take a bow!
We invite you....Use your noodle!
Nothing Really's here and now!

We have Faith in Nothing Really...
We've confirmed He's really here!
Nothing Really has convinced us
Nothing Really's 'tween our ears!

What?.... You think we're onto something?
Oh, that's Nothing Really, friend!
Nothing Really gave us wisdom...
Nothing's what we comprehend.

You can trust us...We know Nothing!
Did you hear, sir, what we said?
Nothing Really has embraced us.....
Nothing Really's in our head!

Thomas Aquinas“That which does not exist only begins to exist through something already existing. Therefore, if at one time nothing was in existence, it would have been impossible for anything to have begun to exist, and thus even now nothing would be in existence which is absurd.”

“What is the way to the abode of light? And where does the darkness reside? Can you take them to their places? Do you know the paths to their dwellings? Surely you know, for you were already born! You have lived so many years!”
--(Job 38:20)

Help me Lord to recognize You....
Help me bow in awe-full fear!
Help me see the Light in darkness....
Help me know, Lord, You are near.

Lord, forgive me for the hardness
That resides inside my soul;
Give me Grace to bow in rev'rence
When my love for You grows cold.

Work in me a humble spirit
Help me know your love for me!
Teach me, Lamb of God, Thy mercy...
Take me back to Calvary!
